What’s wrong with diploma mills?
Because it’s hard for most people to distinguish bogus degrees from real degrees that have been earned through serious study, there is a serious risk of undermining the value of real degrees. How do you know whom to trust? Holders of authentic degrees have to compete with individuals who have bought a degree. And employers run the risk of hiring someone for a job that they’re not qualified to do. Society as a whole is the real victim of diploma mills. People should be able to have faith that the teachers teaching their children, the doctors providing their treatments and the politicians running the country have all earned their qualifications honestly and fairly.
